How to turn off your browser's built in password manager

Here are the steps to turn off the default password manager in your browser:

 

Google Chrome

1.   Open Chrome and click in the three dots in the top-right corner.

2.   Select Settings.

3.   Click on Autofill in the left sidebar. 

4.   Click on Passwords. 

5.    Toggle off the option to Offer to save passwords. 

 
 

Microsoft Edge

1.  Open Edge and click on the 3 horizontal dots in the top right corner. 

2.   Select Settings. 

3.   Click on Profiles in the left sidebar. 

4.   Click on Passwords. 

5.   Toggle off the option to Offer to save passwords. 

 
 

Firefox 

1.   Open Firefox and click the three horizontal lines in the top-right corner.

2.   Select Settings. 

3.    Click on Privacy & Security in the left sidebar. 

4.    Scroll down to the Logins and Passwords section. 

5.    Uncheck the option Ask to save logins and passwords for websites. 

 
 

Safari (Mac)

1.   Open Safari and click on Safari in the top menu bar. 

2.   Select Preferences. 

3.  Click on the Passwords tab. 

4.  Uncheck the option Autofill usernames and passwords.
