Importing the Datto Scripts into the Component Store

  1. Log into your Datto instance
  2. From the component menu select all components
  3. Click on import component
  4. Click Choose File
  5. Browse to and select the Datto-Password-Boss-Preinstaller – Get the Preinstaller here
  6. Click Upload
  7. Click Save
  8. Click on import component
  9. Click Choose File
  10. Browse to and select the Datto-Password-Boss-Client-Install – Get the Client Installer here
  11. Click Upload
  12. Click Save
  13. You should now see both the PB EXE installer and PB Preinstaller listed in your components list

Creating the Jobs to Deploy the Preinstaller

  1. Click on the Jobs Menu and select New Job
  2. Enter Password Boss Preinstaller in the name field
  3. Set you scheduled time to run
  4. Select the target machines you wish to run the script against
  5. Click add Component
  6. Check the box next to PB Preinstaller and click save
  7. Leave the Advance Options as they are
  8. Set the following alerts
    • job succeeds
    • job fails
    • job has warnings
  9. Select both Stdout & Stderr
  10. Select Default Recipients under Job Recipients
  11. Click Save – The job will then run against the targets you selected at the time you set

Creating the Jobs to Deploy the Client Installer

  1. Click on the Jobs Menu and select New Job
  2. Enter Password Boss Client Installer in the name field
  3. Set you scheduled time to run
  4. Select the target machines you wish to run the script against
  5. Click add Component
  6. Check the box next to PB EXE Installer and click save
  7. In the Advance Options select the following
    • Check the box next to Execution
    • Choose the radial button for Execute when the ,user is logged in
  8. Set the following alerts
    • job succeeds
    • job fails
    • job has warnings
  9. Select both Stdout & Stderr
  10. Select Default Recipients under Job Recipients
  11. Click Save – The job will then run against the targets you selected at the time you set
