You can import passwords and data stored in other password managers directly into Password Boss. Some password managers make it easier than others to take your data between applications, and there are some limitations from different applications on what you can export.  You can also import passwords using the Password Boss CSV templates.
 

Importing from 1Password

Importing Passwords

1. Open 1Password and from the menu choose to File -> Export ->Format and select the file format as 1PIF.   
2. Select either All Logins or Selected Logins by holding down the Ctrl key when clicking on them. Select all of the items by pressing Ctrl + A after clicking one of the items in the list.
3. Save the .1PIF file to your computer. Note the name and location of the file.
4. Open Password Boss.
5. From the File menu choose Import passwords -> From File -> 1Password.
6. Choose the .1PIF you just saved.    NOTE:  If the export creates a 1pif folder, you will want to choose the data.1pif file in the folder.
7. Select Next.
8. Select Import.
9. All of the imported items will be saved in a new folder named 1Password- <mm/dd/yy -time>.

Importing from Dashlane

1. Open the Dashlane web app and from the bottom left corner of the app go My Account and click Export Data.
2. If required, enter your Master Password and click Unlock to access your secure data.
3. Click Export to CSV and save the file to your computer.
4. You will need to unzip the file you have downloaded from Dashlane into the individual CSV files. As of this document update, the names of the CSV files are credentials.csv, ids.csv, payments.csv, personalinfo.csv, and securenotes.csv. You can choose which of the files you want to import into Password Boss based on the types of items you have saved in Dashlane.
5. Open Password Boss.
6. From the File menu choose Import passwords -> From File -> Dashlane.
7. Select the CSV file to import.
8. Select Open.
9. Select Next.
10. Select Import.
11. Any items that were saved in Dashlane in a Category will be placed in a folder with the name of the category as the folder name. Any items imported without a category saved on the item will be saved in a new folder named Dashlane - <mm/dd/yy -time>.
     

Importing from Keepass

1. Open Keepass and from the File menu choose Export -> CSV File.
2. On Export Options select: Title, User Name, Password, URL, Notes.
3. Open Password Boss.
4. From the File menu choose Import passwords -> From File -> Keepass.
5. Choose the Keepass.kdb.csv file you just saved. 
6. Select the passwords you want to import.
7. Select Import.
8. All of the imported items will be saved in a new folder named Keepass- <mm/dd/yy -time>.
    

Importing from LastPass

1. Open the Lastpass browser extension.
2. Login to your account.
3. Select More options.
4. Select Advanced.
5. Select Export.
6. Select all of the text and copy it (ctrl + c).
7. Open a text editor program, such as Notepad, and paste the contents of the LastPass export.
8. Save the file with a .csv file extension - for example lastpass.csv.
9. Open Password Boss.
10. From the File menu choose Import passwords -> From File -> LastPass.
11. Choose the .csv file you just saved.
12. Select Next.
13. Select the items you want to import.
14. Select Import.
15. All of the imported items will be saved in a new folder named LastPass- <mm/dd/yy -time>.
     

Importing from Roboform

1. From your taskbar right-click on the Roboform icon
2. Or from the Roboform Editor click on the Roboform v menu
3. Click on Options
4. Click on Data & Sync
5. Click on Export to…
6. In the Set up export window, select the file format:  CSV file
7. Type in a File name.
8. Select Export to save the .csv file to your computer. Note the name and location of where you are saving the file.
9. Open Password Boss.
10. From the File menu choose Import passwords -> From File -> Roboform.
11. Choose the .CSV fileyou just saved. 
12. Select Open.
13. Select Next.
14. Select Import.
15. All of the imported items will be saved in a new folder named RoboForm - <mm/dd/yy -time>.
     

Importing from Sticky Password (PC)

Password Boss supports importing .xml exports from Sticky Password.

1. Open Sticky Password and from the Menu choose to Export
2. Select either Export All or Export only select items
3. Select Unencrypted (not secured) format – Sticky Password XML
4. Click the Next button
5. Save the .XML file to your PC. Note the name and location of the file.
6. Open Password Boss.
7. From the File menu choose Import passwords -> From File -> Sticky Password
8. Choose the .XML file you just saved.
9. Select Next.
10. Select the items you want to import.
11. Select Import.
12. All of the imported items will be saved in a new folder named Sticky Password - <mm/dd/yy -time>.
     

Importing from SplashID

Password Boss supports importing .csv exports from SplashID.

1. Open your SplashID account.
2. Click on the SplashID icon at the top of the app.
3. Select Export.
4. Select Export as .CSV.
5. Save the .CSV file to your PC. Note the file name and location of the file.
6. Open Password Boss.
7. From the File menu choose Import passwords -> From File -> SplashID.
8. Choose the CSV file you just saved. 
9. Select Open.
10. Select Next.
11. Select Import.
12. All of the imported items will be saved in a new folder named SplashID- <mm/dd/yy -time>.
     

Importing from Bitwarden

Password Boss supports importing .json exports from Bitwarden.

1. Open your Bitwarden account.
2. Click on the Tools Tab at the top of the website.
3. Select Export Vault.
4. Select File Format ".json"
5. Click on the Export Vault button and then Export Vault in the popup window
6. Save the .json file to your PC. Note the file name and location of the file.
7. Open Password Boss
8. From the File menu choose Import passwords -> From File -> Bitwarden.
9. Select Open.
10. Select Next.
11. Select Import.
12. All of the imported items will be saved in a new folder named Bitwarden- <mm/dd/yy -time>.
     

Importing from Passportal

Password Boss supports importing .csv exports from Passportal. The Passportal csv file must have the following column names for the import to work successfully.  Any additional columns will cause the import to fail. Do not change the column names or column order.

Passportal ID,Credential,Username,Password,Description,Expires (Yes/No),Notes,URL,Folder(Optional)

Passwords saved with a URL will be imported as Websites in Password Boss, all other items will be imported as Notes.

1. Open your Passportal account.
2. Navigate to Settings->Import/Export. The Export section is on the lower portion of the screen. Use the radio buttons to export Passwords.
3. Select Yes to export Field Headers.
4. Click Export to export and save the CSV file.
5. Open Password Boss.
6. From the File menu choose Import passwords -> From File -> Passportal.
7. Select Open.
8. Select Next.
9. Select Import.
10. All of the imported items will be saved in a new folder named Passportal- <mm/dd/yy -time>.
     

Importing from Keeper Security

Password Boss supports importing .json exports from Keeper. If any of your saved items are linked to multiple folders in Keeper, during the import, Password Boss will create multiple copies of those items, placing one copy in each folder where the item is linked to.

1. Open your Keeper Security account.
2. Navigate to Account->Settings.
3. Click the Export button.
4. From the export options click Export now to Export to .json File
5. Save the .json file to your computer.
6. Open Password Boss.
7. From the File menu choose Import passwords -> From File -> Keeper.
8. Select the .json file you just created
9. Select Next.
10. Select Import.
11. If any of the items in the export file are saved in a folder, the items will be placed in the same folder in Password Boss. Any items not in a folder will be saved in a new folder named Keeper- <mm/dd/yy -time>.
