ConnectWise Manage - Adding the AutoElevate Pod to Your User Setup
Learn how to integrate the AutoElevate Pod into your ConnectWise Manage user setup for enhanced security and efficiency.
Table of Contents
Overview
The AutoElevate Pod is an embedded panel that displays within ConnectWise Manage tickets, allowing technicians to approve or deny elevation requests without leaving the ticket.
The pod is not displayed by default. Each technician must add it to their own ConnectWise Manage user configuration, after which it appears on tickets created by AutoElevate for that user.
The pod appears only on tickets created by AutoElevate. The service board a ticket resides on does not affect this, and the pod is not displayed on tickets originating from any other source.
Before You Begin
- The ConnectWise Manage ticketing integration with AutoElevate must be configured and generating tickets on your service board. For details, see ConnectWise Manage - Ticketing Integration Overview.
- An existing AutoElevate ticket is required, as the pod is added from within a ticket.
- The pod is configured per user. Each technician must complete these steps under their own ConnectWise Manage login.
Adding the AutoElevate Pod to Your User Setup
To display the Approve and Deny buttons in your ConnectWise Manage tickets, add the pod to your user account:
- Open an AutoElevate ticket in ConnectWise Manage.
- In the upper-right corner of the ticket, click the gear icon with the drop-down menu, located next to the question mark button.
- Select Pod Configuration.
- Select AutoElevate Pod from the list of available pods, then click the right arrow to move it to the Displayed list.
- Click Save.
- Scroll to the bottom of the ticket to locate the pod, then drag it to your preferred position within the ticket.
Note: This procedure must be completed for each technician who requires access to the pod.
Best Practices
- Include pod configuration in your technician onboarding process. Because the setting is applied per user, new technicians will not see the Approve and Deny buttons on AutoElevate tickets until they add the pod to their own account.
- Position the pod near the top of the ticket. Newly added pods appear at the bottom of the ticket by default; relocating the pod keeps elevation requests visible during ticket triage.
Troubleshooting
AutoElevate Pod does not appear in the list of available pods
The pod is made available as part of the ConnectWise Manage integration setup. If it is not listed in Pod Configuration, the cause is typically one of the following: the integration is incomplete, your ConnectWise security role does not grant the required permission, or the pod was never installed on your ConnectWise Manage instance. Contact the CyberFOX Support Team at support@autoelevate.com and provide your ConnectWise Manage company ID.
The pod has been added but does not appear on the ticket
Confirm that the ticket was created by AutoElevate. The pod is displayed only on AutoElevate-generated tickets, regardless of which service board they reside on, and will not appear on tickets created by any other source.
If the ticket was created by AutoElevate, confirm that AutoElevate Pod appears in the Displayed list within Pod Configuration and that the configuration was saved. Newly added pods are placed at the bottom of the ticket; scroll to the end of the ticket to locate it.
